The drumming you heard was a sample recording of 55 middle school students at the Renaissance school, all using their Make A Beat drums. Each student tie-dyed their own drumhead and made their own drum with our assistance. Every morning the school day starts with a 20 minute drum circle led by whoever wants to that day. This helps establish their community spirit. Drumming demands attentive participation and provides an opportunity for exploring functional modes of social interaction. Typically, the effects produced through drumming are conducive to the classroom environment, or anywhere people come together for quality-shared experiences.
